Last week a team from V.Group exhibited at NorShipping 2015, one of the world’s largest maritime trade events which takes place biennially near Oslo in Norway.
Presenting the ideal opportunity to strengthen relationships within the Norwegian shipping community and showcase the V.Group brand portfolio on an impressive newly-designed stand, V.Group sent a strong team of representatives to the event. The exhibiting team included John Mackenzie, David Williams, Joe Pitcher, Peter Schellenberger, Jean-Paul Engels, Franck Fallet and Sheila Armstrong. In addition, Roberto Giorgi, Bob Bishop, Alessandro Ciocchi, John Brechin, Simone Gori, Luca Vignale, Peter Mellis, Neil Sayce, Stephen MacFarlane, Mark Upton, and Dag Christoffersen, also visited and attended some or all of NorShipping’s events, with Pat Stroud and Ida Roekke providing wonderful backroom support.
The V.Group stand was hailed a great success and was constantly busy with over 160 visitors including existing and potential clients, industry partners, suppliers and the maritime press. Salesforce is being used to monitor and evaluate the event and early indications show that a number of opportunities are beginning to generate a return on investment.
Invited to speak at some leading sessions, Bob Bishop and Roberto Giorgi both featured in Tradewinds with extensive coverage. In addition, a number of press opportunities were developed including with Seatrade, Fairplay, Marine Electronics and Communications, Ship Management International and Lloyd’s List.
Business was brisk over all four days, with various meetings with Norwegian ship owners to discuss ship management contracts and marine services, signalling further commitment to the Norwegian market. Intercompany business was also conducted with Jean-Paul Engels, Dag Christoffersen and Gjermund Avdal finalising an important contract between UMC and V.Ships Norway for provision of underwater services in Singapore.
In the evening a customer dinner was hosted for 80 key clients at a local seafood restaurant. Our team also had the opportunity to attend the joint 50th NorShipping anniversary celebrations and the Tradewinds reception onboard the historic tallship the Christian Raddich.
Complimenting all employees involved with the event, including those behind the scenes crucial to the successful planning and arrangements, Bob Bishop commented: “Thank you for the great work on the stand at NorShipping. You all put a huge amount of effort into it all. The stand was brilliant and your enthusiasm came across well. Having stood on the stand I know how exhausting it can be. You did a great job promoting a very positive image of V.Group."
Added Franck Fallet, General Manager - Marcas, Monaco: “I was very pleased with the improvements; the design, space and practicality of the stand helped to promote all of the V.Group brands in a highly visible and prominent position within the exhibition. I was proud to represent V.Group at NorShipping.”
